Laser show to return to Leighton Buzzard High Street – this year featuring live music from five bands

A laser show is returning to Leighton Buzzard High Street next month to mark Bonfire Night, and this year’s event is set to feature five live bands.

The display made its debut last year as part of new-look Bonfire Night celebrations, attracting large crowds.

It is being organised again this year by Leighton Linslade Rotary Club, and will be free to attend.

Event team leader Martin Addrison told the LBO: “This year we will have a bigger light show, five bands performing, between 10 and 12 food stalls and more fairground rides.

“We hope to see lots of people and because it is a laser show, it is not weather dependent, so please come even if it is raining!”

The show takes place on Friday November 1 between 6pm and 10pm, and will feature performances from three student bands based at the Cottesloe School in Wing - The Cannisters, Four Seasons and Harakiri.

They will be joined by Dynasty, a student band based at Vandyke School, and Leighton Buzzard band Octrain, who will be headlining proceedings.

A variety of food stalls will be available through the evening, plus there will be rides for small children.

Last year’s laser show attracted an estimated crowd of between 3,000 and 4,000 people, and raised £4,500 for charities including Reclaim Life and the rotary club’s own charity Yes We Can.

The event is being sponsored by The Wood Veneer Hub, Stratton Food Hall, Michael Anthony, Brayleys Cars of Dunstable and Linslade Tyres, with support from Elixir Lighting.
