The church claimed on its social media pages that the incidents had been ongoing for more than a year, but added they had recently escalated.

Among the examples of incidents reported were cars parked in the church car park having eggs and rocks thrown at them, and individuals being seen on church property with spray paint.

The church has advised anyone who sees the perpetrators to not approach them.

The LBO has approached the church for further comment on the incidents, but it has not yet responded.

Now, police are appealing for dashcam and doorbell footage following the incidents which have also taken place in Church Avenue, and involved damage to doors and fences at a number of properties.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting the reference 40/9458/26.
