Leighton Buzzard mum-of-five releases second single full of ‘metaphors about life’
A Leighton Buzzard mum-of-five has released her second single which she says is full of ‘metaphors about life.’
Jill Taylor, whose debut single Medicine topped Spotify’s new artist list in January, has now released her second single entitled Drive Called Life.

Jill, who lives in the Astral Park area of Leighton Buzzard, said about her new single: “It is a positive song lyrics-wise, full of metaphors about life.
“I think we can all get to certain points in life and can sometimes feel a little lost.”
Jill, who has the hashtag #daretodream on her Spotify and Instagram pages, said she had fulfilled another dream earlier this month when she was invited to sing at a charity event, held at a theatre.
“Along with other local musicians I took part in MIND AID, a night of music on April 4, organised by Phil Matthews, where lots of us from Leighton Buzzard and surrounding areas, sang at The Boxmoor Playhouse in Hemel Hempstead, raising awareness and funds for the mental health charity Mind,” she said.
“It was an incredible experience and I'm so glad that I was able to play a small part. I was fortunate enough to sing two solo cover songs and feel honoured that I can now say that I've sang on stage in a theatre.”
Jill’s debut single Medicine enjoyed a great reception on music streaming platform Spotify when it topped its new artist list.
It has now passed the 20,000-stream mark and has been played twice on the radio - once on Burton Radio, a community station based in Burton upon Trent, and again on Scottish radio station Black Diamond.
“This was very emotional for myself as I'm from Scotland originally,” Jill said.
“I just wish that my dad was still around to have heard it.”
For Drive Called Life, Jill once again teamed up with producer Dan James Short, whose studio Melonwave is based in Milton Keynes.
“Dan has produced, recorded and mastered another brilliant song,” Jill said.
“He has a fabulous relaxed and professional studio and he knows how to get the best out of you as an artist.
“I think we work well together musically and he has captured something magical.”
Jill has five children, three of whom are grown up, and two younger ones, aged 12 and 10, who have autism and ADHD.
Away from music, she is passionate about ensuring children with special educational needs are supported by society.
Jill is due to work with Dan on her third track next month and says her musical dream is to ‘release an album at some point in the future.’
Drive Called Life is available on all major music platforms to stream and download.
