Leighton Buzzard mum releases new single she wrote about experiences of stalking and grooming

A Leighton Buzzard mum has released a new single which she wrote after becoming the victim of stalking and grooming.

Jill Taylor, whose debut single Medicine topped Spotify’s new artist list earlier this year, wrote the track Karma after being the victim of stalking and grooming incidents.

Jill, who is in her 40s and has five children, said the experiences meant she was struggling to leave her house, and that she was not going to sing publicly again in 2026.

“I have experienced having stalkers previously,” Jill told the LBO.

“Once when I was much younger in my 20s and again around three years ago when I was recording music as a duo and looking to form a band.

“The experiences were unpleasant...

“Now sadly over the last 10 months I have been stalked again and groomed.

“I am struggling mentally because of everything that's happened. I am not sleeping well, and I am not answering my door.

“I am not leaving my house very often, and I no longer attend local open mic nights due to not feeling safe.”

Jill said she wrote the single Karma in response to the various feelings she was experiencing after being the victim of stalking and grooming, and that she had decided to speak out to help her own healing process.

“It's a very delicate matter and I've stayed silent up until now,” she said.

“Staying silent hasn't done myself any favours, and it hasn't helped my own healing process.

“I appreciate that when you release music and use social media with photos to help promote your music that some people would argue that 'you're putting yourself out there' but I don't think that it ever crossed my mind someone would put me through this.”

Jill has worked with Milton Keynes based music producer Dan Short on her latest track Karma, following the pair’s successful collaborations on some of her other tracks.

Jill added that she hoped telling her story would help others who may be in a similar situation.

“I'm hoping that, in highlighting this awful situation that I am still sadly going through, it will help to highlight that it is OK to talk,” she said.

“Please, if you're experiencing any kind of trauma, reach out to someone - it's so important to not bottle things up.”

Jill added she was not planning to release any more music until next year, so she could take a break to concentrate on looking after herself.

Karma is out now across music and social media platforms, including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes.
