'We need to liven up the town!': Leighton Buzzard late night bar Neons opens this bank holiday
A new late night bar looks set to take Leighton Buzzard by storm – and it's holding its grand opening this bank holiday weekend.
Neons, Waterbourne Walk, is opening its doors for three nights of dancing, disco and pure joy as punters can forget their troubles and party.

The fun begins on Friday (August 28) with a mix of party music (9pm until 2am) and continues on Saturday (August 29) with tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s (9pm until 2am).
On Sunday (August 30), there will be a chance to guest DJ (2pm until midnight), with tracks of the DJ's choice. Contact Neons to apply.

Tim Robinson, who runs Neons with his business partner, ‘Tiny’, said: "This is what Leighton Buzzard needs. I moved here three years ago and we need to liven up the town.
"There are a lot of people round here with nowhere to go.
"We need to build our town into something amazing, we want everyone to be here – bring the money to us
"And by that, I don't mean to me, I mean to this town. We need people to stay here."

For many years, Tim worked in the security industry and has experience of the UK nightlife scene from his days as a doorman.
He’s also the man behind Leighton Buzzard's Safe Zone scheme, and the founder of Old Smoke Vapes.
The shop has now been transformed into Neons vape lounge and late-night bar – and the business will still sell vapes.
Tim explained: "I started off selling vapes out of a bag and I wanted to own my own business. But in October this year, the government will put a tax on vapes [£2.20 per 10ml] – I think people will go back to smoking."
Ever resourceful, Tim used the change as a chance to start a new venture – and has many plans for its future.
Neons will host themed nights, including club classics, UV and paints, school disco, garage, drum and bass, Motown and a 'Cheeky Tuesday' takeaway night, working with local businesses.
"I used to work at the Hammersmith Palais and people absolutely love a school disco! The vibe is great," said Tim. "I'm hoping to work with The Crooked Crow Bar opposite us, so we can both run the night with one stamp between the bars - imagine having a whole class disco in town! Different genres working together.
"I'm trying to look at the bigger picture."
Tim will be donating a large amount of profits raised from the clubs nights to a men's mental health charity – and will be choosing a different good cause every two months.
Natalie Campbell, manager of Old Smoke Vapes, added: "Tim is absolutely amazing. He'll do anything to help anybody and will go out of his way."
