The chips are down, and the charity funds are up

A Great British Fish and Chip Supper in Drayton Parslow Village Hall raised £800 for the Spinal Injuries Association.

The event was organised for the second year running by Drayton Parslow woman Carol Barraclough, a keen supporter of the charity, which supports those affected by spinal cord injury.

Carol began supporting the charity when she became paralysed after being diagnosed with transverse myelitis, a rare neurological condition that causes damage to the spinal cord.

Keen to fundraise for the charity which helped her as she rebuilt her life after spinal cord injury, Carol held her first supper last year with friends and family.

She said: “I am a big supporter of the Spinal Injuries Association and felt the Great British Fish and Chip Suppers were an ideal opportunity to promote the charity in my village.”
