Ros wins Grannies Salver...finally

Five-time Leighton Ladies golf champion Ros Miles is no stranger to winning trophies…but her latest takes pride of place after five failed attempts to win it.

You have to be a grandmother to compete in the Grannies Salver, donated to the Plantation Road club by Connie Nash to mark her year as Ladies Captain in 1973.

Ros, grandmother to 16-year-old Hayden and grand-daughter Jessica, won with a nail-biting three-way finish determined by the bests scores over the last nine holes.

Ros claimed top-spot thanks to a timely par on the final hole, leaving Jan Harries and Gill McDougall with identical scores but in second and third place respectively.
