Award-winning Leighton Buzzard drama group stages powerful family drama
Award-winning Leighton Buzzard Drama Group will present Things I Know to Be True by Andrew Bovell at the Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre from 16–18 April 2026.
The story follows Bob and Fran Price and their four adult children over the course of a year, as the family navigates life, with all the ups and downs of growing up and letting go. This sometimes funny and emotional play explores what it really means to be a family.

The production is co-directed by Lois Wright and Sophie Dean, who are directing their first play with the group.
Lois and Sophie said: “We’ve both loved this play for a long time and staging it has been a real ambition of ours. We were hugely inspired by the original UK production by Frantic Assembly, whose work we admire for its creativity and emotional storytelling. It’s been exciting to explore that spirit in our own way.”
They added: “Leighton Buzzard Drama Group is such a supportive and creative company, and we love that it champions new ideas, new growth and new people trying new things. Being able to direct this production with such a talented cast and team has been a fantastic experience.”
Leighton Buzzard Drama Group has built a reputation for high-quality productions and has received several awards from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).
Things I Know to Be True will be performed at the Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre on Thursday 16, Friday 17 and Saturday 18 April 2026.
