Carnival's Picnic in the Park a huge success
Despite a few light showers, Carnival’s Picnic in the Park proved very popular once again.

Hundreds of pre-school children, and their carers, flocked to Parsons Close to enjoy a day of free entertainment. There was a fairground ride, there was face-painting and there was Andy’s Awesome Party show, alongside an array of stalls offering games and promoting local groups.
Organised by Leighton-Linslade Carnival, the event was supported by Harpenden Building Society and by Leighton-Linslade Town Council.

A Carnival spokesman said after the event: “Everyone seemed to have had a wonderful time. The children’s ride was busy all day, as was the face painter and Andy’s Awesome Party show attracted large crowds of very enthusiastic children (and adults) – there was great interaction between the children, and Andy and the snow gun was very popular.
The few light showers did little to dampen spirits, and we are now looking forward to Carnival itself on 11th July.
We are very grateful to Harpenden BS for sponsoring the ride and the Town Council for providing the gazebos to provide a performance area and shelters for feeding and resting.”
