As Mayor of Leighton-Linslade, I’m delighted to reflect on another busy and successful year, as highlighted in Leighton-Linslade Town Council’s Annual Report for 2025–26.

The report showcases the wide range of work undertaken by the Town Council to support our communities, look after our public spaces and ensure Leighton-Linslade remains a welcoming, vibrant and enjoyable place to live, work and visit.

From maintaining our parks and open spaces to supporting community activities and local initiatives, the Council continues to make a positive difference to everyday life across our town.

The report is just 16 pages long and packed with photographs, so I would encourage everyone to have a look. You can read it here: https://www.leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/145/2026/06/Annual-Report-2025-26-.pdf

One particular source of pride is the continued recognition of our wonderful green spaces through the prestigious Green Flag Awards. These have been awarded to Pages Park, Parson’s Close Recreation Ground, Linslade Memorial Playing Fields and Garden of Remembrance, Linslade Recreation Ground, Peace Meadow and Vandyke Road Cemetery.

We have also received Community Awards for Pages Park Community Garden and Linslade Recreation Ground Community Garden, as well as a Heritage Award for Vandyke Road Cemetery.

These awards are a fantastic testament to the exceptionally high standards maintained across our parks and open spaces, and reflect the dedication and hard work of our ground’s teams. Many thanks and congratulations to everyone involved.

Finally, why not join us for this year’s spectacular finale to the Music in the Park programme? Proms and Picnic in the Park takes place at Parson’s Close on Saturday, 12 September. It’s an all-day community event, completely free to attend, combining afternoon outdoor cinema with an evening of classical music and fireworks. It promises to be a wonderful day for all the family.

Also look out for information on my charity events https://www.leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk/council_events/

Coffee Morning at Pizza Express on Saturday 26 September between 10am-12noon, for Leighton-Linslade Helpers.

Charity Quiz Night at Leighton Town FC on Friday 16 October for Freddie & Friends.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the staff at Leighton-Linslade Town Council for their professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication throughout 2025–26. Their hard work plays a vital role in making our town not only a wonderful place to visit, but, most importantly, a fantastic place to call home.
