There’s THEFT at Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre!
No, not a real one but a taut comedy thriller staged by Leighton Buzzard Drama Group on September 3rd, 4th and 5th at 7.30pm.

Set in an ordinary suburban home, a seemingly small burglary unravels into a farce of secrets, suspicions, and shifting loyalties. A wily burglar is cornered but then manages to turn the tables on his captors, sowing discord among them. As the victims, the thief, and the police collide, everyday politeness gives way to panic, bluff, and brilliantly awkward confrontations!
Written by Eric Chappell (best known for TV sitcoms such as Rising Damp), one critic has said ‘a credit to the skills of wordsmith Eric Chappell that Theft could grip an audience from start to finish’.
Caroline Page (Director) says: “Why THEFT you might ask? Well it’s quite simple, I was in Natural Causes also written by Eric Chappell and loved it, so when I read THEFT I knew I had to give it a go. I have directed two recent pantomimes: Alice in Wonderland and Treasure Island and so really fancied trying a comedy thriller. It’s a very funny play including some wry observations about life in general. Two couples come back from a night out to find they have been burgled - seems simple enough but it is when the burglar infiltrates their relationships individually that tensions and the laughs start to come thick and fast.”
