Free morning after pill from local pharmacies - MP welcomes

Women across Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, Houghton Regis and surrounding areas can now access the morning-after pill free of charge from local pharmacies.
It's part of the Government's NHS overhaul so there are more healthcare options available without having to go to the GPs.
It's believed that around one in five women aged 18 to 35 will require an emergency contraceptive each year, after having unprotected sex.
Until now many women had to pay up to £30 at the counter or make a GP or sexual health clinic appointment.
Speaking from the Tesco Pharmacy on Vimy Road, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard MP Alex Mayer MP said: "Every woman deserves easy, confidential access to contraception when she needs it. This simple but important change will help thousands of women living locally, giving them peace of mind and control over their own healthcare. Pharmacies are vital as a trusted, accessible and approachable source of healthcare."
