Photographic Portfolio Competition

On Wednesday February 11 Leighton Buzzard Photographic Club held their annual Portfolio Competition.
Entries had to consist of three to six prints or digital images to be judged as a panel. (For digital images this means combining the pictures into a single projectable image.) The aim is to produce a panel that is greater than the sum of its parts.
This is an open subject competition. But the images must show some link – such as a common colour, subject or shape – identifiable by the judge.
The portfolios entered covered many creative styles, genres, and subjects. These included colour and black & white, street, architecture, landscape, seascape, cityscape, still life, travel, abstract, and wildlife. And they were presented in all sorts of different arrangements.

Our independent CACC judge for the competition was Kevin Day, a professional photographer and designer from Slough. He praised our “really good images and lovely panels”.
After his detailed critiques and thoughtful deliberations, Kevin awarded first place for prints to Tricia Meers LRPS (with Tim Gould second and Tricia Meers also third) and first place for digital images to Sally Kitchingman LRPS (with David Manning ARPS second and Patrick Linford third).
