The rock legends have added extra dates to their tour and tickets but some fans are upset

U2 will play four UK concerts next June as extra dates have been added to the Irish rock legends’ Greatest Show on Earth Tour.

Pre-sale tickets for the initial two shows at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium went on sale on Wednesday morning at 10am and fans were immediately left shocked by the prices, set at an eye-watering £437 for general standing tickets.

Now a third and a fourth show at the stadium have been added, on Tuesday, June 22, 2027, and Friday, June 25, 2027.

Hospitality and VIP tickets for both shows are already being advertised on official VIP ticketing site Seat Unique, priced from £729.75, ahead of tickets going on general sale today, Friday, November 6.

Those prepared to pay an extra £300 for the privilege of avoiding the Ticketmaster queuing process will also get access to “premium bar areas” before and after the show and the chance to sit on a “premium padded seat”.

The excitement over the release of tickets for U2’s Greatest Show on Earth Tour has been tempered by anger over ticket prices that some U2 fans have dubbed “a disgrace”.

General tickets for The Greatest Show on Earth Tour shows will go on sale at 10am today and it will be interesting to see if high prices torpedo fans’ enthusiasm for the four huge UK gigs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Two additional shows should help satisfy some of the huge demand for tickets though many fans will resent paying such high prices.

On X, one longstanding fan of the band said: “I’ve been going to U2 gigs since 1980. This is the first tour I’ve not been able to because of the ticket price.

“It’s a sad day, my pension just can’t pay these kinds of prices. Good luck to those who can, but I won’t be there.”

Another fan said that the cheapest ticket they were offered by Ticketmaster was £400 for a standing ticket. They branded the prices “an absolute disgrace”.

The shows in London will be the band’s first in the UK in nine years and will promote the band’s 16th studio album, entitled Carnaval De Luz, to be released on Friday, November 13.

It’s U2’s first new album for nine years and features a dozen brand new songs.
