Films and Proms in the Park promises to be 'spectacular' end to summer in Leighton Buzzard
Leighton Buzzard's Films and Proms in the Park promises to be a spectacular end to the summer season.
Families and friends are invited to Parson's Close Recreation Ground on Saturday, September 12 – along with their picnics, flags, blankets and camping chairs.

The day will begin with Films in the Park and a screening of Back to the Future at noon, followed by Wicked: For Good at 2pm.
Finally, celebrations for Proms in the Park will take place from 7pm, with live music at the bandstand – and a screening of the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms.
A Leighton-Linslade Town Council spokesman said: "The evening will begin at the bandstand with a special performance from local singer and soprano Lissie Allsopp.
"Lissie will open the celebrations with her fantastic Best of British set, featuring a selection of much-loved songs.
"The musical entertainment will continue with the Bedfordshire Band of the Royal British Legion. Their renowned brass band sound will fill the park with a programme of traditional favourites and Proms classics."
The celebrations will continue with a live screening of the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms from the Royal Albert Hall just after 9pm.
"Settle in and enjoy the traditional proms atmosphere right here in the park, with plenty of opportunities to sing along to some of the nation’s best-loved patriotic songs," added the spokesman.
A bar will be available throughout the evening, serving a selection of summer drinks. The café will also be open for light snacks and refreshments, with facilities available throughout the day.
Families can also enjoy the ever popular Splash and Play area, beach, and accessible playground.
The town council spokesman concluded: "Bring your flags, dress in your finest red, white and blue, pack a picnic, and get ready for a fantastic evening in the park.
"The event will finish with a spectacular low level fireworks display, providing a memorable finale to the celebrations and bringing our summer programme of events to a close."
The event is free to attend.
