Leighton Buzzard Festival Singers delighted to return as they resume socially-distanced rehearsals in face masks

The sound of the Leighton Buzzard Festival Singers once more filled St Barnabas when they recommenced rehearsals on Monday night after a long break.

Undeterred by singing in face masks and being socially distanced, members of the Festival Singers were in fine voice under the baton of their new Musical Director, David Emerson, who is also the new Choirmaster at St Barnabas.

Chairman Paul Dickens said: ‘It was a joyous occasion last Monday and great to be part of live music once more.

“Everyone was incredibly happy to be singing together again, despite the restrictions imposed by the current pandemic.

“We have been careful to follow all available advice in these difficult times.”

The choir is expecting to perform their Christmas Concert at St Barnabas on December 12 subject to any changes in regulations at the time.

The music will include excerpts from the Messiah and Britten’s Ceremony of Carols.
