Leighton Leisure and Community Centre closes main pool after 'incident'
Leighton Leisure and Community Centre has had to temporarily close its main pool due to an "incident" this afternoon (July 20).
It will remain closed until 1pm tomorrow while "necessary processes" are completed.

The teaching pool remains open as normal, along with all other areas of the centre.
Posting on social media, Leighton Leisure and Community Centre stated: "We've sent an app notification and email to all customers to keep everyone informed. Our team are also contacting all customers with bookings that will be affected to discuss their options and help rearrange their sessions where possible.
"We know this is disappointing, and we're really sorry for the inconvenience. While incidents like this are unfortunately outside of our control, the safety of our customers is our top priority, and we have to follow strict procedures before reopening the pool.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding. We'll keep you updated and let you know as soon as the main pool is ready to reopen."
All lessons in the main pool have been cancelled – and will not be moved to the small pool due to its depth.
A centre spokesperson added that if people had booked and paid for a session, it would be happy to move their booking.
This is a developing story and we will add more information as it becomes available.
