Brabin still looking to bolster strikeforce

HATTERS boss Gary Brabin continues to cast his eye over trialists as he bids to improve his options for the new season, writes Mark Wood.

Strikers Nathan Elder and Matt Paterson were given the chance to impress in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Corby, but Brabin is yet to see enough to convince him to sign either player.

Paterson, a 21-year-old striker from Southend who netted three goals in nine starts while on loan at relegated Stockport last season, struggled to make his mark in a disjointed Town performance.

Brabin said: “Matt is available from Southend and is someone we’ve highlighted.”
