Members of the Leighton Buzzard Road Cycling Club gathered for their Annual General Meeting and Awards Evening, celebrating another successful year of cycling and recognising members who have made outstanding contributions to the club.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Club Person of the Year award to Jemma Graham. Jemma was recognised for an exceptional year in the saddle, completing multiple long-distance solo rides including Audax events. A well-established club rider, she has also helped lead women’s club rides and continues to inspire fellow cyclists. Her achievements in 2025 included completing the Festive 500 in just two days and an impressive 7,431 miles cycled during the year.
The Best Newcomer award went to Karolis Koncikas for making an immediate impact since joining the club.
The Most Inspirational award was presented to Roger Seldon in recognition of his dedication and encouragement to fellow riders.
The Most Improved Rider award went to Sarah Calderbank, while Steve Bland received the Most Combative award for his determined riding throughout the season.
Looking ahead, the club is also preparing for its annual Bob Hamilton Memorial Ride 2026, which will take place on 12 April 2026, bringing riders together to remember former club member Bob Hamilton and raise money for charity.
Club officials praised the strength of the club community and the enthusiasm of members across racing, club rides and social events, with the evening providing a fitting celebration of another great year for the club.
