Comedy duo act played one of their last shows in Leighton Buzzard
Award winning comedy duo ‘The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue’ played one of their very last shows at Leighton Buzzards independent entertainment venue ‘The Crooked Crow Bar’ on Wednesday before retiring in the first week of April. They have been performed together for over two decades.
The pair have played shows globally from the Falkland Isles and New Zealand to north eastern Denmark over the last two decades. In the UK they have played the length and breadth of the country performing to extracts from well-known songs, the show is as slick as ever with plays on words or letters on cards. When they come onto the stage wearing a woolly hat and a bowler you wonder about the word ‘Look’ stuck to the forehead – that is until the words in the song are ‘take that look off your face’ and the card falls to the floor, the carefully placed ‘ME’ in the corner of the stage all becomes clear when R.E.M. is played (‘That’s ME in the corner’ etc). Basically, the hyperactive pair are described as utterly bonkers and ridiculously funny!

The duo won the highest accolade for comedians being voted ‘Comedian of the Year’ by fellow comedians at the UK Comedy Awards in 2019.
The monthly comedy shows are run by Castle Comedy who are based in Bedford, with compare Paul Revell booking and introducing the acts. Opening support on Wednesday 25th was Nick Page, a last minute ‘stand in’ who brought the house down with stories and gags about his family life. He was followed by Jake Baker
The next show is planned for Wednesday, April 29 featuring Lindsey Santoro, El Baldinho (Britain’s Got Talent) and Ryan Mold. Bookings can be made on the Castle Comedy website https://www.castlecomedy.co.uk/ or via the Crooked Crow Bar website.
