The 2026 Bob Hamilton Memorial Ride saw the local cycling community out in force recently, as riders gathered to honour a beloved figure while supporting a vital cause. Organised by the LBRCC (Leighton Buzzard Road Cycling Club), the event brought together over 50 riders from multiple regional clubs for a day of tribute and challenging miles.

The event was supported by key local businesses, with Dorvics Cycles kindly opening their shop doors early to facilitate the sign-on and provide a central hub for the departing cyclists. Participants were given the choice of two demanding routes: the gruelling 84-mile "Full Bob" or the 42-mile "Half Bob," both of which wound through the scenic local countryside.

The day was as much about fundraising as it was about cycling. A raffle was held to boost the charity pot, featuring a generous raffle prize donated by Gareth Shaw Bike Fitters. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the riders and supporters, the event raised £250 for Cancer Research UK.
