“Our growing school will give children the best start in their journey through education, delivering high quality teaching and learning and instilling values that will serve them well throughout life.”

Recently inspected by Ofsted in May 2022, the inspection team reported that “everyone is friendly at this school”. The curriculum was also praised, “Teachers use the curriculum plans to create activities that engage and enthuse pupils in their learning.”

Additionally, it was noted that there is strong provision in early years, “Phonics is taught from early years by well-trained staff and staff from the early years through to year 4 develop strong, positive relationships with most parents.”

Mr Callender notes that balancing a lively home life with a commitment and passion for school requires boundless energy, a positive attitude and flexible approach. He therefore smiles often and celebrates the successes of all children, staff, family and friends, no matter how small.

He adds: “I’m really looking forward to working alongside the fantastic team at Rushmere, engaging with families and prioritising our pupils and their needs as we begin the new school year.”

Cathy Barr, Chief Executive of The Shared Learning Trust said: “We are tremendously pleased to welcome Mr Callender to The Rushmere Park Academy. He will be a great asset to the school.”
