The much-loved annual concert took place at All Saints Church, Leighton Buzzard on Saturday 17 October and marked the launch of this year's Poppy Appeal season in Leighton-Linslade.

Hosted by the Bedfordshire Band of the Royal British Legion, the concert was held in the presence of Air Commodore Gordon Moulds CBE DL RAF (Rtd), Deputy Lieutenant of Bedfordshire and representative of His Majesty The King, alongside local Mayors and dignitaries.

Music for the evening was provided by the Bedfordshire Band of the Royal British Legion, together with the wonderful voices of Chanteuses and local singer Lissie Allsopp, who once again joined the Band following her appearance at Proms in the Park earlier this year.

Alongside the music and song, the evening retained at its heart the importance of Remembrance.

With the act of forming a Drumhead Altar, the traditional Parade of Royal British Legion Standards from across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire was held under the command of Parade Marshall Tony Cousins, while the Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance was led by Prebendary David, Vicar of All Saints Church and Band Chaplain

The evening brought together music, remembrance and community pride in support of a cause that means so much to members of the Armed Forces community and their families.

Now that every last penny has been counted, the organisers are delighted to announce that the 2026 Poppy Prom Concert raised an incredible £3,290.97 for the Poppy Appeal.

The organisers would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the concert and gave so generously. The enthusiasm and support shown by the people of Leighton-Linslade and the wider community helped make the evening a truly memorable occasion.

Special thanks also go to Prebendary David and the team at All Saints Church for once again welcoming the event, together with the volunteers who provided refreshments during the evening.

The concert was also made possible with the valued support of its 2026 sponsors: CFES, Foulger & Childs Windows, Austin and Carnley Solicitors, Dillamore Funeral Services, Blue Kirby Creative, Eagle Graphics Printers and Leighton-Linslade Town Council.

Particular thanks go to Concert Organiser Stuart Clarke for the dedication and hard work involved in bringing the Poppy Prom together once again.

Most importantly, however, the final word belongs to everyone who supported the evening.

£3,290.97 is a magnificent result and a wonderful demonstration of the generosity and community spirit of Leighton-Linslade.

To every performer, Standard Bearer, volunteer, sponsor, organiser, dignitary and member of the audience who played a part, however large or small:

Thank you.

And to everyone who donated so generously to the Poppy Appeal, a very special thank you.

Leighton-Linslade, you did us proud.

Lest We Forget.
